Why is this important?

“My name is Nur Sheikh-Elmi, and I have been detained for over two years. Two years of my life have been spent behind bars, separated from my family, fighting against a system that seems determined to forget me. I am not just a name on a file, I am a brother, a son, and a human being, and I need your help to be heard. I am facing deportation to Kenya, a country I am not a citizen of and where I fear for my life. I was born in Somalia, and I’ve done everything I can to prove that. Despite DNA evidence and the testimony of my family, I remain trapped, waiting for a system that seems to view my life as disposable. But I refuse to be forgotten. This fight is not just about me. It’s about the countless others who are stuck in this detention, people who are being torn from their families, people who are being silenced. My family has fought relentlessly for my freedom, but we can’t do this alone. We need your voice, your strength, and your solidarity. I am calling on you—everyone who believes in justice, in humanity, in standing up for what is right—to help stop my deportation. Sign the petition, share my story, raise your voice. Together, we can break through the silence. Together, we can stand against this injustice. I believe that with your support, I can reunite with my family and reclaim my life. I refuse to give up hope, and with you by my side, I know we can win this fight.”
