To: Chuck Keeton, warden of La Palma Correctional Center in Eloy, Arizona

Over 150 Migrants Protest La Palma Correctional Prison in Arizona, Sign and Shut CoreCivic Down!

This campaign has ended.

The town of Eloy, Arizona is home of multiple Core Civic private prisons and for years has been a landfield of death, torture and abuse inside of its detention and correctional facilities holding our loved ones. On Monday, September 17th, more than 150 detained migrant people broke a hunger strike inside La Palma Correctional Center to demand that the warden, Chuck Keeton, listen to their demands as people are being tortured in his prison. They ask that warden of facility to move on the following demands:

1. Uphold human rights of all detained migrants
2. End abuse by prison guards
3. Access to showers and bathrooms
4. Three meals a day

Why is this important?

It’s been 3 days since migrant people have engaged in a protest to improve the conditions in which incarcerated people live and institute regulations that recognize the humanity of imprisoned people; to end prison slavery and torture; and to end death by incarceration. With abuses happening behind prison walls Las Palma detainees ask that you support their movement by signing this petition, making a call to the warden and sharing their demands!
“I’ve lived first experience the ill-treatment and torture that happens in Arizona’s Detention Centers and I am in solidarity with my comrades fighting inside because the conditions need to change we can not allow more deaths to happen in these dangerous facilities!” - Juan Miguel Cornejo, Formerly Incarcerated in Eloy Detention Center, Community Member of Puente Arizona
