Tell ICE: Stop Saja Tunkara’s Deportation
Stop the deportation of Saja Tunkara. Release Saja Tunkara so that he can receive the medical care he needs, and be with his family while his open immigration application is resolved.
Why is this important?
Saja was detained by ICE in January 2018, and has been at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, WA ever since. His US citizen wife and two children (9 and 7 years old) lived with him in Seattle until the time of his detention. Read more about their story here: https://www.gofundme.com/immigrationsave4lives#
Throughout his time at the NWDC, Saja has suffered from serious medical challenges – delay of a scheduled surgery on a neck tumor, which resulted in nerve damage that restricts his arm movement; the development of asthma; and increasingly impaired vision. Saja’s detention has been profoundly traumatic for the entire family. His deportation would be emotionally and financially devastating for the Tunkara family and would further limit his access to life-saving medical care. His wife has been an incredible and vocal advocate on behalf of both Saja and all who are detained.
Saja was recently informed that his deportation is imminent. Stop the deportation of Saja Tunkara. Release Saja Tunkara so that he can receive the medical care he needs, and be with his family while his open immigration application is resolved.
