Univision and Telemundo are collaborating with ICE and the Department of Homeland Security and running anti-immigrant ads that demand immigrants leave the country immediately. In one ad, Kristi Noem (Secretary of DHS) states they are “deporting criminal illegal aliens,” and that if people don’t leave “we [ICE] will find you and deport you.”
These ads are a betrayal to the Latino and immigrant communities who have been loyal to Univision and Telemundo for decades. They promote the same anti-immigrant agenda pushed by the Trump administration and only create fear, uncertainty in our households and communities.
Media platforms like Univision and Telemundo need to protect our communities and not target us.

Univision y Telemundo están colaborando con ICE y el Departamento de Seguridad Nacional y emiten anuncios anti-inmigrantes que exigen que los inmigrantes abandonen el país de inmediato. En uno de los anuncios, Kristi Noem (Secretaria del DHS) afirma que están “deportando a inmigrantes ilegales con antecedentes penales” y que si la gente no se va, “nosotros [el ICE] los encontraremos y los deportaremos”.
Estos anuncios son una traición a las comunidades latinas e inmigrantes que han sido leales a Univision y Telemundo durante décadas. Promueven la misma agenda anti-inmigrante impulsada por Trump y solo generan miedo e incertidumbre en nuestros hogares y comunidades.
Las plataformas de medios como Univision y Telemundo deben proteger a nuestras comunidades y no atacarnos.
Why is this important?
Latino and immigrant communities keep Univision and Telemundo in business and they must do right by us. Our dignity and safety is non-negotiable. We are demanding that Univision and Telemundo stop airing ICE and DHS commercials.
We refuse to let anti-immigrant and racist propaganda air on our screens and in our households. Using these platforms to spread fear and encourage self-deportation is harmful, unethical, and violates the trust latino audiences have built with these networks.
