I think that for this man to "escape" to the United States with the qualifications he has and work from 08:00 to 23:00 as a cleaner / caretaker must have been humiliating enough but he did it to protect himself and his family and to put a roof over their heads.
By right of birth alone someone else who understands nothing of the fear and conditions this family has had to live in gets to decide that they are not as deserving of help and recognision as others.
Shame on this person.
